The SDE programme, which draws from Jazz techniques, Ballet exercises, Indian dance forms, Yoga, Physical Training Disciplines, Dance Therapy activities, Theatre Arts improves the following for the learner: Fitness levels, Confidence, Concentration, Discipline, Posture, Body Awareness.
To introduce our students to the world of performing arts we will have regular workshops to involve and engage the children.

The health benefits of yoga are well-known to all. Your child will be introduced to meditation, the art of breathing and the asanas that stretch every part of the human body.
Martial arts training forms an integral part of our educational system where the student is taught the art of self defence in order to be better equipped to face unforeseen situations.
This will be the apex student body of the school. Student prefects, wardens and captains are responsible for the discipline in school. Overseeing their progress will be the Head Boy and Head Girl. Empowering students by putting them in roles that require responsibility is an integral part of the Student Council.
Sports and physical activity are an essential component of any educational endeavour. Following from our belief that every child has intrinsic potential, we intend to provide our students with essential physical opportunities. Inter-school competitions are treated with appropriate seriousness so that students learn to make winning a part of their lives.
Sporting Facilities includes 200m Athletics Track, Basketball, Tennis, Multipurpose court, Long jump, Cricket nets, Water Jets, Indoor badminton Court. This would help prepares children for various interclub competitions and further enhances the competitive spirit in them.
ARTS & CRAFTS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
In keeping with our policy of specialised education, arts & crafts as well as work experience are a part of our education programme.
In order to make maths more interesting, Universal has developed a special Maths Lab in the school. It helps students explore mathematical concepts through activities and experimentation. It also helps teachers to demonstrate, explain and reinforce abstract mathematical ideas by using concrete objects, models, charts, graphs, pictures, posters etc.
OUT OF SCHOOL LEARNING
Universal’s out of school learning programme is designed to promote discovery, learning, fun and healthy life styles in a safe and stimulating environment. Out-of-school learning takes place in a variety of different settings – from museums to aquariums, from socially, relevant work to study clubs and from art galleries to factories. Special focus is provided on social service visits and excursions.

In the first year, the activities conducted aim at increasing the child’s trust in the learning place i.e. the new environment, the new teacher, the new set of children that are present. Play is the primary medium of education. Age appropriate toys and learning tools are provided to children.
In the second year, games, music and play activities increase the interpersonal contact between the children. At this stage, appropriate attention is paid to strengthening pre-reading and pre-writing attributes of each child.
In the third year, motor and speech skills are improved through games, colouring, recitation, music, drama. Enhancing the linguistic abilities of the children assumes great priority. A systematically devised phonic programme developed in the UK, ‘Jolly Phonics’ is introduced.
In the fourth or final year, physical and mental co-ordination is further accelerated by way of specially supervised activities like cutting with safety scissors, puzzle solving and building blocks. Increased self reliance is encouraged with independent writing while the training imparted ensures that each child is proficient and ready for formal learning .
Our laptop labs will sport latest student friendly laptops. The ratio maintained is 1:1. Students will use these devices for multiple uses like learning ICT, research, making presentations and also to learn different languages as well as enhance their math skills.
The pre-eminence of books as the source and repository of knowledge is increasingly being challenged by the Internet and eBooks. In our wi-fi facility, students will be exposed to a variety of eBooks in the eLibrary section of the school.
AUDIO VISUAL CLASSROOM SYSTEMS
All class rooms and other learning spaces have a Plasma TV that is used by teachers for presentation of rich-media learning materials & real-time annotation.
INDIA’S FIRST GOOGLE-POWERED EDUCATION NETWORK
Universal is the first school educational network in India to subscribe to the Google Apps suite for our schools. This allows all staff and learners to have their own personalised home page and email IDs on the school domain name. This also allows the school administration to blog/tweet/publish all circulars, schedules and news items on the school website. Parents can subscribe to email alerts, tweets and feeds via the website to keep in touch with the latest happenings in the school.
ASIA’S FIRST VIRTUAL SPORTS AND MUSIC SCHOOL NETWORK
Universal is the first school educational network in Asia to use Microsoft Kinect for providing ”Virtual PE” and ”Virtual Music” lessons for its learners, in addition to real life sports and music training. The Microsoft Kinect is a video game console that allows users to control a game using physical gestures using motion sensing technology. In effect, players have to actually swing their arms to hit a ball while playing virtual Tennis or to bang a drum while playing virtual music.

Universal High School would provide tablet to each secondary class learner. Each tablet is loaded with Intelligent Adaptive Curriculum to identify every student’s strong & weak areas in every subject & coach him/ her for success. These tablets provide anywhere, anytime learning with multiple modes of presentation. It gives extended learning time & opportunity with instant online assessment. The tablet also facilitates coaching for all competitive exams like: IIT-Jee, SAT, ACT,PISA, TOEFL, GRE (foundation).
